Changelog
0.1.0 — 17 October 2026 (initial release candidate)
Money management (Money Manager 7 parity and beyond)
- Unlimited entities (individual, household, SMSF, trust, company, partnership, sole trader, club) with roles (owner/editor/viewer/accountant), per-entity base currency, financial-year and tax profile.
- 18 account types; transactions with splits, linked transfers (incl. cross-currency), attachments, statuses, rules engine, payee normalisation, natural-language quick add, keyboard-first register with running balance, bulk edit and undo.
- Standing orders / scheduled transactions with full recurrence options, auto-post or remind, bills calendar.
- Statement reconciliation with a "find the difference" solver.
- Budgets (category, envelope, 50/30/20), pacing, safe-to-spend, rollover; goals with milestones, projections and implementation intentions; debt snowball/avalanche; cash-flow forecast with scenarios; loan, savings and super calculators.
- Business-lite: contacts (with country/VAT number), invoices and bills with server-assigned numbering, branded invoice PDF/print/email draft, ageing and debtor/creditor statements, profit & loss (cash/accruals), GST/BAS and VAT returns (standard and UK flat-rate schemes, domestic reverse charge, stagger-aware periods, per-box drill-down), EC Sales List, country-specific business categories (SA103/BAS), cross-entity drawings transfers, and HMRC Making Tax Digital VAT filing (OAuth connect, obligations, submit; env-gated with sandbox support).
- Imports: CSV (34 bank/broker/price/event presets incl. CBA, NAB, ANZ, Westpac, Up, Amex, nabtrade, CommSec, IRESS, FP Markets, Sharesight, IBKR), OFX/QFX, QIF, CAMT.053; mapping wizard, duplicate detection (incl. already-applied corporate actions), revertable batches. Bank feeds: Basiq (Australian CDR) adapter implemented behind an API key — consent flow, account linking, nightly sync through the same import pipeline.
Investing & Australian tax
- Parcel-level holdings, trades with parcel selection strategies (FIFO, LIFO, highest/lowest cost, minimum tax, maximum loss, maximum discounted gain, manual) and a what-if sell simulator.
- 17 corporate action types (splits, consolidations, DRP, return of capital, demergers, takeovers, AMIT cost-base adjustments, …) applied deterministically from an event log; imports of IRESS-style stock events.
- Dividends and distributions with franking credits, DRP and AMIT components; FY income report with ATO labels.
- Australian CGT engine: 12-month discount rule, discounts by entity type (incl. SMSF one-third), loss ordering, carried-forward losses, pre-1999 indexation, 2027 regime (pending legislation) and an ATO-labelled CGT schedule (18H/18V/18A). UK (Section 104 pool, same-day and 30-day matching, annual exempt amount, 18 %/24 %) and US (short/long-term netting, $3,000 loss limit, carry-forward by kind, wash-sale warnings) jurisdictions selected by entity country.
- Performance: time-weighted and money-weighted returns, benchmark replication against ETFs/indices, allocation and diversification.
Reports
- 23 reports export as CSV, Excel (.xlsx) and PDF — typed money/percent/date cells, totals rows, paginated A4 PDFs with repeated headers — and the accountant pack ZIP adds a one-sheet-per-report workbook.
Engagement
- Three-minute onboarding to a first "aha" moment, daily check-in, weekly review, monthly money date, streaks with freeze tokens, achievements, insights feed, celebrations — all switchable with Calm mode.
Platform
- Fastify + tRPC API on built-in SQLite; scrypt passwords, TOTP 2FA with replay protection, login lockout, cookie sessions, CSRF/origin checks, per-entity authorisation, audit log, backups with path-confined restore, nightly jobs, accountant-pack ZIP export.
- React web app with a token-based design system (light/dark, WCAG AA), command palette, contextual help on every screen, guided tours, mobile layout.
- Help centre (VitePress) with 70k words of guides, 12 animated workflows, 13 recorded walkthroughs and real screenshots.
Quality
- 1,041 automated tests (720 core, 19 db, 123 api, 179 web) plus 20 Playwright end-to-end specs including an axe-core WCAG 2.1 AA scan of every route (desktop/mobile, light/dark: 0 violations); independent correctness and security reviews with all confirmed findings fixed; heuristic UX audit (docs/UX-AUDIT.md); three independent persona usability tests with a re-test after fixes (SUS: first-time budgeter 60 → 70, SMSF trustee 65 → 72.5, UK sole trader 45 → 67.5 — docs/usability/); Moneysoft parity matrix sourced from Moneysoft's feature pages (docs/MONEYSOFT-PARITY.md).
Known limitations
- Bank feeds: the Basiq adapter is implemented but has only been exercised against a mocked Basiq (needs your API key and a consent run; see docs/BANK-FEEDS.md). UK and US CGT cover individuals, trusts and companies (UK: Section 104 pooling, same-day/30-day matching, annual exempt amount, trust rates, corporation-tax indexation to Dec 2017; US: short/long-term netting, trust brackets, C-corp 21 % with loss carry rules, wash-sale warnings); UK pooling does not yet model takeovers, returns of capital, demergers or the companies' 10-day rule. Only the nabtrade preset is verified against a real export; others are community/heuristic and fall back to the mapping wizard. HMRC filing has been exercised only against a mocked HMRC (not the live sandbox). Legal pages are drafts for counsel review. Not tax advice.
